Treatment and Recovery are not the same thing. Treatment is the intervention, stabilization, education, and counseling phase of an effort to bring about major change when someone is deep in alcohol & drug addiction. Recovery begins when someone graduates from Providence Recovery Center Residential Treatment Program and begins to implement the tools and behaviors acquired in treatment in order to live a life free of chemical dependency. Careful planning designed to meet each client’s needs is required. Our clinical team will work with each client to prepare a comprehensive continuing care plan. This plan will focus on the specific needs and preferences of each of our clients, coordinating with family, therapists, physicians, employers, clergy, the judicial system, and any other agency or individual that may be helpful or necessary to create the greatest chance for success in each client’s effort to live a life free of chemical dependency. In many cases, it may be that the client should not return to their former residence. In that case, the discharge plan may include living in a clean and sober environment for a period of time following residential treatment. Providence Recovery Center will stay in contact with each of our clients after discharge, to offer support and guidance beyond the initial treatment episode, and to remind them that they are welcome to attend our free aftercare sessions.
